Enjoy a Beautiful Public Space Decked Out with a Stunning Work of Art

    Place Jean-Beliveau

    Mention de source
    Ville de Québec

Named after the legendary Montreal Canadiens hockey player, Place Jean-Béliveau is a one-of-a-kind space where you can meet up with friends and hang out. In winter, it transforms into a beautiful skating rink so you can rent skates and get out on the ice yourself. In the middle of the space is La Rencontre, the largest bronze sculpture ever cast in Canada. This tribute to hockey is made up of a deer balancing on another deer, creating a mirror image. Fun fact: A 1984 puck from cherished hockey club Les Nordiques de Québec is hidden inside the sculpture where the deer’s heart would be.
