Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, on June 24th, marks the start of summer. In and around Québec City, you’ll find lots of ways to celebrate. Here’s how to make the most of the National holiday weekend.

The Annual Saint-Jean Baptiste Show on the Plains of Abraham

Join the thousands of people heading to the Plains of Abraham for the big June 23 Show celebrating Québec’s culture, French language, and identity.

This year, the festivities begin at 2 p.m. with circus performances and family entertainment at the entrance of the Plains of Abraham, near Grande Allée.

Saying Hello to Summer on a Patio

Whether for cocktails, dinner, or to share a few tapas, we’re making a beeline for the patio and soaking up those vacation vibes. Québec City has countless outdoor spots for enjoying a drink, a meal, and breathtaking centuries-old architecture with the majestic St. Lawrence River as a backdrop.

Visiting Local Microbreweries

Grab your squad and raise a glass to Québec’s national holiday, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day! Did you know there are more than 30 microbreweries in the Québec City area? Get in on the hustle and bustle of the city at Noctem Artisans Brasseurs or Brasserie Inox, or take it easy and unwind in a picture-perfect setting at Souche Stoneham or Microbrasserie de l’Île d'Orléans. There truly is something for everyone.
